here is a quick one I have been using for a long time both in the shop and on the road . I use this tool only for breaking chains as it saves my two good chain tools fro excessive wear . ( rohloff and tuto)

Here is a traditional race mechanic tool hack when cleaning bikes and parts use natural bristle brushes & sponges they do not hold on the grease and oil like synthetic brushes & sponges. Good sources are Kitchen stores look for pastry brushes they are usually epoxy set or plastic set , another source is Bodegas . If you need stiff bristles brushes can be cut down to make stiff scrubbing brushes.
PH neutral cleaners are best these days with the finishes on parts , try to avoid the use of Simple Green it attacks alloy & plantings also a know cause of hydrogen embrittlement.

I see Super B tools have bought out a special tool to crimp the ends on brake and gear cables. Coming from the motor trade as an Auto Electrician I use an electrical crimp tool that works excellently... (now how do I attach a picture???) link

I have been using an modified electric type crimp tool for cable end since the inception of STI it makes sense to be able to pull on the cable and for set up and tuning , many many many will disagree and are the first to grumble at a cable end that come off in the hand or is lost
